I was a reporter with Lehigh University's newspaper, the Brown & White, from 2018 to my graduation in 2020. In that time, I contributed numerous articles and videos to the publication, and served as the Deputy Editor of the Multimedia Department. My first ever video with the Brown and White remains the most viewed video on the publication's YouTube account with over 25,000 views.
Award-Winning Video Journalism
For this video, I received 2nd place in the Video Story category at the Keystone Student Press Awards, a statewide competition for Pennsylvania student journalists, as well as 1st place for Lehigh University's 2019 Williams Prize.
This video, which I produced as a 3-part series and multimedia package following the 2019 Climate Strike around Lehigh's campus and the surrounding city, won 1st place for Lehigh's 2020 Williams Prize.
Prof Talks with Laney Delaney
In collaboration with Lehigh's freeform radio station, WLVR, and the Brown and White, I produced a podcast called Prof Talks, where I interviewed Lehigh professors about their lives and topics related to their field of study. Each episode is approximately an hour long. Unfortunately, production was cut short by the pandemic, but you can listen to the published episodes below!
As an intern for Lehigh University's Communications and Public Affairs office, I coordinated the launch of the official university TikTok account. In maintaining the account, my job was to reach out to organizations on campus that could create successful TikTok content, as well as to create original content ideas on my own, and post them to the account.
Previously, I've also developed social content on Twitter for Sugar Shack doughnuts (now Elizabeth's Counter) in Alexandria, Virginia. I also take a lot of pride in my own Twitter account, and have been featured on multiple popular Instagram meme accounts including @beigecardigan.
For roughly a year, I ran an instagram account where I reviewed dipping sauces. I did everything from big fast food chains to food trucks on campus, and it spiraled into something that got me gigs judging food competitions and pageants, as well as a paid collaboration with Lehigh Communications prior to my employment there.
Additional Evidence of Competency and Personability
I auditioned and was selected to perform original material as the opening act for comedians the Lucas Brothers for their show at Lehigh University in November 2019.
You can listen to my guest appearance on the podcast Sorry We're Open here, where I discuss internet culture, memes and absurdism.
I am currently a finalist to be Lehigh University's class of 2020 student Commencement speaker, pending the rescheduling of the ceremony.
